The following excellent review article on the final episode (season 2) of Hitsugi no Chaika. Collecting body parts is part of the ongoing quest of the main characters and hopefully the abandonment of this quest will not lead to the end of this excellent anime series.
Advancing greatly, Hitsugi no Chaika immediately enters its final stages in its latest spectacle, with the situation threatening to reach grand proportions, although character motivations go down the drain.
Its been overdue for a long time coming, now the sick quest of collecting a random guy’s ransacked body parts finally come to an end. Through various treachery of kidnapping the kawaii sniper heroine, Tohru and company are forced to give up their hard-earned remains, and the sole one with Red Chaika are forcefully taken from them while they were away. Like that, all the remains are gathered in one place, with the Black Chaika free to set off her ploy.
The scene itself where Tohru comes to give up the remains interestingly establishes just how much Tohru cares about the loli. Before, it was pure business, and anything goes as long as he accomplishes the task given to him. But now here he is, betraying that very creed to save and secure Chaika’s life, showing that he now values Chaika in a more personal way rather than some sort of duty.
In a grotesque display of the Black Chaika being a tentacle monster underneath her skirt, moaning erotically as she consumes the remains by who knows how, she also destroys what little is left of sniper loli Chaika’s belief in the purpose of her quest and herself. Meanwhile, Hartgen is in disbelief that what’s he’s been all this time was a mere pawn – all for the rise of the one and only Emperor Gaz once again, through the horrifying sight of the womb of Black Chaika exploding in giving birth …. read more of this article at:Seventh Style
