The LEGO Movie has amazingly been snubbed by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences at Oscar time. When the LEGO Movie first hit the DVD rental stores, I thought I’d give it a miss. It really didn’t look like something that would appeal to me … but even though I dislike anything that Will Ferrell appears in, I finally watched it … and wow it was certainly a lot more fun than I imagined (even with the appearance of Will Ferrell, who actually brings home the LEGO Movies final scene very well). So to be snubbed at the Oscar nominations when it was so popular with fans and at the box office seem to make no sense at all.
